KING RAT

I was a growing fan of John Barry's work when I found this title in a used CD store, so it was bought without any knowledge of the film or the score. The first times I listened, I gained no lasting impression. It sat on the shelf for a while until it made it back to the player. This time, though, I was fascinated. The instrumentation is very unique and the melodies are good. Some simple yet wonderful themes run throughout the score, which overall is a quiet and distinctly un-warlike score. I do enjoy the March and the Main Title most, but the other standout for me is "Touch And Go". This disc has become one of my favorites. Highly recommended.
